Quantum Crypto is a series of 26 generative artworks created from real quantum computing experiments run on IBM’s quantum processors. Each piece visualizes data from custom-designed quantum circuits that deliberately engaged superposition and entanglement—core phenomena of quantum mechanics. The resulting measurements, taken from real quantum particles, were transposed into color patterns.

These aren’t classically random visualizations. Each work encodes a unique collapse of probabilistic quantum states into definite outcomes—a process inherently unpredictable and rooted in nature’s most fundamental randomness. The images are not representations of quantum data; they are the data, made perceptible through color and form. Each one serves as a snapshot of the invisible behavior of particles, a poetic translation of quantum fluctuations into visual experience.

Created by artist and IBM-certified Quantum Practitioner Allon, the artworks were generated using Python and Qiskit, and later minted on the Ethereum blockchain. In 2021, the project became the first series of two-dimensional artworks directly sourced from quantum computing experiments to be minted on any blockchain. One of the works was acquired by the Museum of Quantum Art for its permanent virtual collection. In 2023, Quantum Crypto was featured in Digital Rebirth, an event at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
